The six Charles Eliot Norton talks Bernstein gave at Harvard in 1973 were essentially on the future of classical music. The lectures are on- 1. "Musical Phonology" 2. "Musical Syntax" 3. "Musical Semantics" 4. "The Delights and Dangers of Ambiguity" 5. "The Twentieth Century Crisis" and 6. "The Poetry of Earth" and are illustrated with some of the musical notation he refers to.
This book was initially published in a slipcase with three vinyl 45" records. The book is in VG condition, but neither the slipcase nor the records are included here.
