First Printing - First Thus. 8vo. 236 pp. Personalized inscription by both authors on the half-title page. Blue boards decorated in gilt on the spine. Light rubbing on the corners of the dustjacket; aside from the authors' inscription, no interior markings. The story of two innocent, warm-hearted orphan girls and their quest for happiness, success and the truth of their parentage, set during the pioneer days of the 1800s. The girls were raised together by nuns, and then the day came when they had to leave the convent to earl a living. And they stepped into a world of dangers and temptations for which their upbringing had left them totally unprepared. And the 1850s is well evoked, with its stark contrasts of lawlessness and Victorian civilisation....
