About This Item
London: J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd Book. Good Plus. Hardcover. (1957), small 8vo, ix, 101pp, light wear, else G+. A play for voices. Preface and musical settings by Daniel Jones. Dylan Thomas, (1914-1953), a Welsh poet and playwright, probably best remembered for his poem, Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night, and a prose work, A Child's Christmas in Wales, was celebrated during his lifetime, and even more so after his premature death; partly because he was a good writer, and partly because of his reputation as a carousing, drunken, philandering, doomed poet, a reputation which he encouraged. He also had a powerful speaking voice, (as many Welshmen seem to have) making his radio broadcasts and his live readings very popular. This play/poem was finished one month before his death. .
