Original brown cloth binding with decorations and lettering in gilt on front board and spine. Aimed at the amateur prospector for gold, diamonds and other precious minerals, this book has six engraved illustrations. An unusual piece of Western Americana. Unkonwn to Cowan, Graff or Eberstadt. Binding somewhat worn, particularly at the extremities. Text a little soiled. Contemporary owner's signature in pencil on front blank leaf. A good copy.
