About This Item

Philadelphia: National Publishing Company, 1873. Leather bound. Good. Large 8vo. Original blind-stamped leather. 244 illustrations, both full-page and in text. 823 pp. plus advertisements.
Spine rebacked in tape, and first few leaves also repaired. Leather quite scuffed, rubbed away at corners and top edge. Card pocket on front free endpaper. Some foxing throughout. Interior is very good.
This is an uncommon history of the Western American territories by Utahan author Beadle. A fascinating, profusely illustrated book with a lovely leather binding, which is sadly marred by the rebacking. (Howes B269).
