[Philadelphia:] Press of W.P. Koebel, 870 N. 4th St., [1888]. 19pp. 9 x 5¾ inches. Original printed wrappers. Union League member E.B. Morris' name in pencil to top of front wrap. Minor edge chips to wrappers; two vertical creases; bump at fore-edge; very good.
The Union League was founded in 1862 during the Civil War to support President Abraham Lincoln and Republican government and to champion the Union cause. The club's war-time history, including its efforts to recruit soldiers for Pennsylvania Volunteer regiments, is told here by the president of the Union League.
