A comprehensive history of the U.S. Far East Air Force in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. When the Korean War broke out in 1950, the AF effectively injected itself into the war in its first week, providing transportation, evacuation, intelligence, but most importantly the means to delay the rapid advance of the North Korean forces. Futrell describes all these operations with a clarity and a balance that have since become a model for official military history. He has analyzed the operations, interpreting their significance to the course of the conflict & their importance in the application of air power in modern warfare.
