Washington, D.C.: Cornelius Wendell, 1859 Washington, D.C.: Cornelius Wendell, 1859 62 pp plus 27 B&W plates. Printed to accompany the United States and Mexican Boundary Survey(1848-1855) which determined the border between the United States and Mexico as defined in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which had ended the Mexican-American War. The results of the survey were published in the three volumes entitled Report on the United States and Mexican boundary survey, made under the direction of the secretary of the Interior by William H. Emory (1857-1859). This book has the title page of the survey followed by'contents of the volume' with parts 1 & II, botany and zoology of the survey. This book is solely the zoology. Text is tight and unmarked, with some foxing. Plates 23-27 have about three -quarters of an inch of moisture stain along top edge of pages. Endpapers have previous owner's name in ink. Publisher's red cloth boards are rubbed with small loss of material at extremities. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
