"Meditations-- from a young lady in Upper Canada who is a member of a Methodist church but is nevertheless a believer in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ."" ""My Sister""-- Story of a young boy who strikes his three-year-old sister in a moment of anger...she grows ill, and dies. Years later he writes of his feelings. Biographical Sketches: Rev. Thomas Whittemore, with profile drawing of the Reverend. Born Jan. 1, 1800..preached his first sermon in Dec. 1820 in Roxbury, MA. He served the Universalist society in Milford, MA in 1821, and removed to Cambridge Port, MA in 1822. Now he is editing the Universalist Trumpet and traveling about the country, preaching. ""He is about middling height, but exceedingly thick set, with a very full blue eye. When he is in the pulpuit his appearance is not very striking, as his features are all heavy... until he commences speaking, his words flow with such perfect ease, and every one comes directly to the point.""
