About This Item
Blackie & Son London, 1883 This is the Seventh Edition of a fascinating and brilliantly illustrated book. It has a splendid Quuen's Prize presentation bookplate mounted inside dated 1883. There are 270 engravings on wood throughout. The subtitle reads: THE INFINITELY GREAT AND THE INFINITELY LITTLE. This was a science prize. It is a gorgeously bound Victorian presentation, with an elaborate partly gilt pictorial cover. Highly collectable. Near Fine is allowing for the passage of time, but this is firm and lightly used copy of a book most often found in a well used floppy state. Gilt edged text block on all three page edges. Highly collectable.. Hardcover. Near Fine.
