About This Item
cat40a. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1886. Brown pictorial cloth designed in black and dark brown. Floral end papers. Frontispiece & 11 full-page illustrations. Some wear to spine extremities, cloth a bit rubbed, soiling to a few margins, a very good copy otherwise. Adventure with pirates and storms, and the finding of an unknown island where lies the wreck of one of Vasco da Gama's ships, and its lost cargo, which includes a massive golden idol. Though not a lost-race novel, this copy is from the collection of Stuart Teitler.
