Very clean decorated American trade binding in original dust jacket. Brown-olive cloth boards with cream and black decoration, white lettering on cover, black lettering and small decoration on spine. No fraying or wear. Binding is tight and square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean, with clean endpapers; no names, writing or bookplates. Illustrated with half-tone engravings of tables, prepared dishes, appliances, etc. Preface by the author. 184 pages. Dust jacket has large edge chips, a few closed edge tears, but clean and attractive in archival quality mylar cover. A peek into what life was like in households with staff in the 1920's. Duties of the wait staff; the dining room and the pantry and their furnishings; care of the pantry and dining room; styles of serving meals; afternoon tea; rules of good service; carving; picnic baskets and traveler's lunch; care of lamps; care of sleeping rooms; serving meals without a maid (!)..
