Los Angeles: Twentieth Century-Fox, 1938. Final script for the 1938 film. Copy belonging to Jane Darwell, the actress who portrayed Mrs. Graham, with annotations to her lines in manuscript pencil. Here under the working title "Hard to Get."
A spoof of popular prison movies, where two con men end up in prison and becomes star athletes on the prison's football team. Remake of John Ford's 1930 film,
Blue titled wrappers, noted as FINAL on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped copy No. 30, dated AUGUST 29, 1938. Distribution page present, with receipt INTACT. Title page present, dated AUGUST 29, 1938, noted as Final script, with credits for screenwriters Lou Breslow, and John Patrick. 152 leaves, with last page of text numbered 149. Mimeograph duplication, with blue revision pages throughout, dated September 1, 1938. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good plus bound internally with two gold brads.
