Oblong quartos (approx. 11 1/8" wide by 9 1/8" tall). Three-quarter red leather over marbled boards with marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. New red spines with five raised bands, gilt titles. Lavishly illustrated with sepia-toned photo reproductions. Volume I has an inserted page with a seal that presents this copy of the book from a father to his son. (Edward H. Bennett, architect and co-author of the Plan of Chicago to his son Edward H. Bennett, Jr.) E. H. Bennett's name in gilt on the top cover of each volume. A little scuffing on the boards.
