USS Mount Vernon (AP-22) was a troop transport that served with the United States Navy during World War II. Prior to her military service, she was a luxury ocean liner named SS Washington. As a troop transport her service was mostly on the Pacific side of World War II transporting British, Canadian, and American troops to all Allied pacific ports as far away as Australia and New Zealand. She was also part of the troop buildup in 1944 to Britain and the Mediterranean as Germany was attacked and in 1946 as she brought troops back to the US. This book is bull of photographs of life on board the ship and in her ports of call during her 5 years of WWII service. A clean very presentable copy of a rare Cruise Book.
