[Tokyo, Japan]: [Printed by Toppan Printing Co.], 1953. Hardcover. Very Good. Boards in blue cloth with a United Nations logo and aircraft carrier silhouette design on front cover. Corners and spine ends are rubbed. Original owner's name at rear, else clean and unmarked. 282 pages. 11.5 x 9 inches. Pictorially documents the 1953 Korean cruise (San Francisco/San Diego/Hawaii/Hong Kong/Korea/Japan). Includes pictures of ship personnel, officers and sailors, each identified by last name. The Boxer departed San Diego on 30 Mar 1953, joined Task Force 77, engaged in strategic bombing missions and provided close air support for UN troops until the armistice was reached in July. She remained in Korean waters until November 1953. The USS Boxer (CVA-21) was an Essex-class aircraft carrier, commissioned in 1945 and decommissioned in 1969.
