(Johannesburg: Kayor Publishing House, 1955). 8vo; original pale blue cloth, lettered in black on spine; pictorial dustwrapper; pp. 240. Dustwrapper a little rubbed and edgeworn; front free endpaper removed; endpapers and outer leaves a bit foxed; archival tape strengthening to tail of lower hinge. Good condition. Bernard Sachs was an early biographer of Herman Charles Bosman, and has dedicated this book to Bosman's memory. Bernard Sachs (1905-1985) was "educated at Jeppe High School in Johannesburg. Best known as a journalist and leader writer for the South African Jewish Times, he was editor of the now defunct literary magazine Trek, and is also noted for biographical writings on prominent South Africans, particularly Herman Charles Bosman, whom he knew well ... Has also written a novel The Utmost Sail (1955), based on the life of Bosman ... " - Adey, et al: Companion to South African English Literature, p. 173. .
