Bruxelles,: A. Lesigne,, 1915 (=1918).. viii, 491, [viii] pp. 8vo (15 x 22,5 cm.). Contemporary dark blue buckram, spione gilt lettered (the original printed wrappers bound in). Richly illustrated with over 250 gravures and examples in black and in colour. ¶ Last and most complete edition of the fine typographical manual, with numerous examples of Victorian and Art Nouveau typography. The Cambridge University Library posses a presentation copy from the author to E.Bartlett (dated 7 july 1924) in which the following note is tipped in: "L'impression de ce volume a ete achevee au debut de 1915 ... ne voulant pas faire censurer mon oeuvre par les bandits ... j'en ai retarde la publication jusqu'apres leur depart. Je prie en consequence le lecture de remplacer le millesime 1915 ... par celui 1918". --(Some scattered light soiling, especially in the outer margin, but a good copy).
