About This Item

Alfred A. Knopf, 1998. Limited Signed Edition; B.E. Trice. Hardcover. Book edition in flawless, Fine+ condition/Slipcase in Fine+ condition. This edition was released without a dust jacket.. Scarce. Herb Yellin's personal copy designated with limitation page by B.E. Trice and signed by author Anne Rice.

Very Fine/As New octavo First Edition/Limited Edition of "The Vampire Armand" signed by the author Anne Rice. The book and its matching slipcase are in flawless condition. The edition is leather-backed with decorative satin cloth, housed in a slipcase adorned with matching pattern; both display a romantic and gothic touch, much like Anne Rice herself. The spine bears the imprint of B.E. Trice.

This edition holds special significance as it is not only a limited edition signed by the renowned Anne Rice, but features a unique designation as "Herb Yellin's Copy" on the limitation page.

Crafted by B.E. Trice in appreciation of Yellin's mentoring in the publishing realm, these exclusive editions are highly coveted among collectors due to their rarity and impeccable quality. These editions are much more scarce than the numbered and lettered editions. It's hard to imagine that a publisher would reset the font to make this single imprint, but they did and it created a wonderful one-of-a kind edition for the late Herb Yellin.

A note on "Herb Yellin's Copy" and Lord John Press:

This unique edition originates from the personal estate of Herb Yellin, the visionary behind the publishing house Lord John Press. B.E. Trice, a publishing imprint mentored by Herb Yellin, crafted a number of special editions with letterpress limitation pages, identifying them as personal copies retained by Herb Yellin, the creator of Lord John Press. This exclusive design was extended to a number of select editions by authors such as Clive Barker, Michael Connelly, Michael Crichton, Richard Ford, Carl Hiaasen, Anne Rice, Cormac McCarthy, and James Lee Burke.

The scarcity of these "Herb Yellin's Copy" editions by B.E. Trice contributes to their collectible status.

Lord John Press, founded by Herb Yellin in 1977, held a distinguished place in the publishing world, operating as a small private press in Northridge, California. Specializing in limited edition, fine press books, Lord John Press published works by literary giants like Norman Mailer, Ray Bradbury and Joyce Carol Oates. Herb Yellin dedicated his press to producing high-quality editions, often times showcasing smaller works from renowned authors with meticulous attention to detail. From page quality to typesetting and cover board designs, Yellin's commitment to excellence was unwavering.

Following the cessation of Lord John Press operations, the limited availability and superior quality of their publications elevated their desirability among collectors worldwide.
