Top edge stained dark green. Illustrated endpapers. 160pp. Very generously illustrated throughout with color and black and white photographs, watercolors,sketches and pastels, many full page plates. The author and his Japanese wife set out to paint, draw and photograph an ancient and traditional Japan and japanese way of life. Many picturesque people and customs which have passed with Japanese modernity are captured. Essentially a picture book with generous commentary. A very fresh, tight and fine volume in a crisp, sharp, brilliant dust jacket with one minute very closed edge tear. A beautiful copy. Fine in very near fine dust jacket..
