About This Item

This is the "Becky Sharp" photoplay edition of "VANITY FAIR" - A Novel Without a Hero by William Makepeace Thackeray. 1899; Harper & Brothers; New York. This edition features numerous full-page photographs from "the comedy as produced by Mrs. Fiske and her company of players." Gilt top page edges.

Condition:
Light soiling to the covers and spine; the front cover has some foxing at the center; there is a small, white stain below the title on the spine. Small cloth tears at the top spine corners. Bright gilt top page edges. There is a tiny cloth tear at the top-right front cover corner. Tight binding with no loose pages. There is a crack at the front hinge between the half title page and frontispiece (despite the crack, the front cover is still firmly attached and is not shaky). Nice interior - the pages are clean and nearly appear unread with only some very light foxing to the tissue guard over the frontispiece, and a tanned strip along the gutter between the 2nd "Cast of Characters" page and the opposing 1st Contents page. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
