Impression from a series of prints after wax reliefs by Daniel Neuberger.The bust portraits of a man and a woman, being held on the shoulders of a Hercules. The couple is crowned with laurel by two deities, one at each side of the scene. Atop are three cupids holding a wreath with vegetation and fruits. Standing besides the Hercules are a young man and a young girl carrying attributes. At his feet is a lion and two prisoners in chains.Signed at bottom: D. Neuberger inv. / G. C. Eimmart del et sculp.On verso collector's mark of Pim van Eekelen [L. 5101]. On the mount, under the print, handwritten notes by van Eekelen, with references to the artists.Neuberger was a sculptor specialising in wax reliefs, working in Augsburg and Vienna. Examples of his work are in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
