[LGBTQ] [Pulp] Anonymous. (Copyright by Lilla Van Saher) Adam and Two Eves. New York: Beacon Books, 1956. First Edition Mass Market Paperback Pulp. 189 pages. Measures 4.25" x 7". Cover features a vintage illustration of two women laying on a bed, one caressing the other lovingly. The tagline reads: "A novel that speaks out boldly on a taboo subject." Presented as a nonfiction account of the experiences of a lesbian woman told in novel style, the book follows a young widow named Carroll, who falls into her first lesbian relationship. Book is believed to have been written by Lilla Van Saher, a writer and actress who published various lesbian pulp novels and passed away in 1968. Listed in Grier at the "A *" tier for having significant lesbian characters and action, and being integral to any lesbian pulp collection. Back cover states: "Out of her own experience, the anonymous author tears the curtain from one of the gravest threats to model social morality - the strange love practices trapping unwary girls today." Cover is vintage and vibrant and textblock is tight. In very good condition.
