About This Item

Gwenllian Morgan. "Extracts reprinted (by permission) from The Duties of Citizenship. The proper understanding and use of the municipal and other franchises for women. A paper read at the Annual Conference of the National Union of Women Workers, Manchester, October 27th, 1896." Original paper wrappers, 4 page folded pamphlet. 9 x 7 ¼ in. Two punch holes along left edge. Gwenllian Morgan was the first woman mayor in Wales (Mayor of Brecon 1910-1911), and in addition to her advocacy for suffrage, she also was active in the temperance movement. Very rare, early printing of this speech. At the time that this description is being written, no copies are recorded in American institutions. OCLC search results are at best an estimate and can vary over time.
