Sm. folio, with frontispiece, title and series title in red and black, 21 monochrome plates on 11, 25 illustrations in the text and 3 folding maps coloured in outline; decorative red cloth gilt, gilt back, a near fine copy. Sold from an institution with its bookplate on front paste-down, neat accession data on series title verso and small Dewey serial in gilt at tail of backstrip. This high-quality facsimile re-issue omits the geological map present in the original edition of 1907.
