Cambridge: John Bluff, 1980. NrF/VG. Limited first edition in d/w. Limitation not given. Illustrated with engravings, photographs, line-drawings and maps. The biography of Colonel John Clark-Kennedy (1817-1867) who served with the 7th Dragoon Guards, in China and was at the seige of Multan, in Crimea and Sebastopol. PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY COLONEL JOHN CLARK-KENNEDY. Inscription reads, 'Adrian Batchelor-Taylor, Esquire, M.C./ "Old, 'REMEMBERED', far off things,/and battles long ago!"/from his friend, John Clark-Kennedy/March 8th 1986 Knockgray'. Lieutenant Batchelor-Taylor was in the Royal Armoured Corps, 12 Royal Lancers and was awarded the Military Cross in the Second World War. Colonel John Clark-Kennedy (1918-2010), cousin of the author of this book, was also of the 12 Lancers, and is mentioned in the Introduction by the author as having 'put all family papers at my disposal'. With Bibliography. Page 62 has a two word correction to the text; d/w has some marking and dusting; else a near fine copy, in a very good d/w, of a SCARCE limited first edition ASSOCIATION COPY. D/w now protected in a detachable, non-adhesive, clear sheaf.. Presentation Copy Inscribed And Signed. Limited First Edition. Hardback. Near Fine/Very Good.
