About This Item

London: John Murray. 3 volumes. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. [xiii + 549] + [viii + 483pp] + [vii + 634pp]. Full, lightly rubbed and worn contemporary calf with four gilt compartments to spine, along with volume/title labels. Gilt-stamped rolls at the borders. Volumes have aged but are still elegant. There appears to be some old leather conditioner still on the covers in the grooves done by blind-tooling. The foot of Volume III is cracked with no loss of leather or legibility. There is a mild damp-stain near the same area. Pages are clean and bright. Bindings are sound, although a few gatherings are looser than others in Volume III. Title-label of Volume II is dashed but legible. Endpapers are foxed. Extra international postage required. . Good. Leather Bound. 5th or later Edition. 1837.
