Original price of $3.50 still present. . First printing. Classic account of one of the most notorious 'outlaw gangs' in the story of the Western frontier - and of the organization - the Montana vigilantes - which brought them down, written in a very readable style, with an emphasis on the personalities of those involved. It is interesting to compare this with the 2004 book by Frederick Allen "A Decent and Orderly Lynching." Illustrated with a frontispiece, 15 photographic plates, a map and drawings by Charles Hargens. 346 pp. Illustrated endpapers.
