Allentown, PA: Edward Schlechter, 1942. Hardcover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 347 pp. Tightly bound. Corners not bumped but the cloth at the tips of the lower corners show wear. Text is free of markings. No dust jacket. No ownership markings. Rounding and some wear to the cloth at the head / heel of the spine. Bound in blue cloth with dulled gilt type face on the spine. Presumed First of 1942 with no later printing history given. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.
