Clark Company of Cleveland to Miss Maud Stafford laid in, with her ownership inscription on front pastedown. Additional inscription by James Bear, former Curator at Monticello. Apparently produced by the bookseller Clark, since the detailed invoice notes that the binding is new, and that it is "An important and extensive collection offered at $1.00 an item, taking no cognizance of the cost of gathering, indexing, preparing and binding.... A difficult collection to gather, as many of the issues from which these documents have been taken are scarce and very difficult to find." The articles date from 1845-1915. An enterprising way of selling outdated periodicals.
