London: Bradbury & Evans, 1858. First Edition in book form; 1st issue, with "actresses" for "ancestress" on page 207, volume I, and last two chapters of volume 1 misnumbered. Vol. I published 1858, Vol. II, 1859. Illustrated by the author with frontispieces, extra engraved title pages, in text illustrations and all 44 further plates as called for. Very Good, in contemporary half green morocco over green buckram boards, the back with gilt tooled decorations and lettering, marbled end papers, and edges,internally quite lovely with only a few plates with scattered toning, light rubbing to leather at tips. . First Edition. Half Morocco. Very Good/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
