About This Item

From the Introduction: "...The meaning ascribed in popular usage to the word 'selfishness' is not merely wrong; it represents a devastating intellectual 'package-deal,' which is responsible, more than any other single factor, for the arrested moral development of mankind.
In popular usage, the word 'selfishness' is a synonym of evil...Yet the exact meaning and dictionary definition of the word 'selfishness' is: concern with one's own interests.
This concept does not include a moral evaluation; it does not tell us whether concern with one's own interests is good or evil; not does it tell us what constitutes man's actual interests. It is the task of ethics to answer such questions."

Fair condition. No dust jacket. Blue cloth cover has dark blue text on spine. Cover has some edge/corner wear, soiling, and fading. Ex-library. Something has been torn off of front inside and it appears that the front end paper has been torn out, leaving the spine exposed in the crack. There is some staining and some underlining, but most of the text is clean. There are a few pages at the back that have a liquid stain at the bottom, maybe coffee or tea. Other than the break at the front, the binding is good, but not "tight".
