New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Near Fine. 8vo. Pp. x, [2], 3-389. With an eight-page section of black-and-white photos. Intertextual line-drawings of Boeing aircraft throughout. Decorated endpapers. Bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering stamped on spine. Light tape shadows to front and rear board, where old dust jacket protector had been affixed. Dust jacket quite bright, but with corresponding tape shadows; price of $5.00 intact. Inscribed by Mansfield on the front free endpaper. Inscribed to Dorothy Alvord, who from 1951-1962 served as the second director of the King County Library System: "To Dorothy Alvord / With much appreciation for all the King County Library is doing fro us / [signed] Harold Mansfield". A presentable, well preserved copy, with dust jacket now housed in a fresh removable clear dust jacket protector.
