About This Item

Paris, France Librairie Gallimard: Le Livre de Poche, 1931. Paperback Very Good in Wraps: shows indications of very careful use: just a touch of wear to the extremities; mild rubbing to the wrapper covers, which show faint hairline creases to the rear panel; the expected tanning to the text pages, due to aging; a former owner's name at the upper corner of the front end-paper; the binding remains square and secure; the text is clean. Free of creases to the backstrip. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. A handsome, carefully used copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor imperfections. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 12mo. (6.5 x 4.35 x 0.5 inches). 172 pages. Language: French. Weight: 5 ounces. Paperback. Vol de Nuit, pubished in 1931, was the second novel by French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It went on to become an international bestseller and a film based on it appeared in 1933. Its popularity, which only grew with the ideological conflicts of the 1930s and 1940s, was due to its master theme of sacrificing personal considerations to a cause in which one believes. Should be in the library of every aviator, but this is an important work that can be enjoyed by any reader. Highly recommended.
