New Haven, Connecticut U.S.A: H. Mansfield, 1848. Ninth. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 5 1/4" x 8. FAIR / NO DUST JACKET. 317, [2], 331, [3] pp. Text unmarked, but foxed and toned throughout. Illustrated with a frontispiece engraving in b/w in Vol. I, a full color frontispiece at the beginning of Vol. 2, and several illustrations in b/w in the text. Brown cloth boards with stamped decoration at front and back, gilt decoration at front and gilt decoration and lettereing at spine. Boards lightly scuffed, spine rubbed, spine cloth splitting, edges rubbed, corners worn to boards. Front hinge cracked at title page, but holding, back hinge good, textblock firm.
