Extensive part of the official report of Gaimard's last exploratory voyage to the North: 10 vols. of text (with gaps) bound in 14; and 3 vols. of plates with 311 (218 lithographed; 93 engraved) plates. - Slight browning and occasional staining to text. Heavier browning and foxing to c. 50 plates, a few minor marginal tears, tissue protection leaves partly detached. Text bound in original boards, somewhat dusty, extremities a bit worn, browning to spines; plates in contemporary half-calf, somewhat rubbed and worn, small tears to 2 joints. Lacking 7 complete and 3 half-volumes of text and about one third of the inventory of the atlas volumes.
