About This Item

Boorowa, NSW: Watermark Press, 2013. Paperback wide quarto, very good condition, thick card covers (with flaps), illustrated endpapers, plans, black & white & sepia (brown-tinted) photos, colour photos (mostly full-page), light foxing edges, minimal edgewear. Heavy, and extra postage may be requested to destinations outside Australia. 151 pp. This fascinating book is the story of the restoration of a historic Presbyterian manse in the small coastal town of Moruya on the south coast of New South Wales. The home is researched by leading conservation architect Peter Freeman. This beautifully produced book chronicles the events that happened to make it possible to restore the manse, which was built in 1865. The book also tells the story of Moruya, of its mighty river, and of the events that shaped Moruya prehistory and subsequent European settlement. The author shares the step-by-step process of researching and restoring a dilapidated historic building.
