About This Item
A lovely collection of type presented in a specimen book by Tacoma News Tribune printer and collector, Walter Lichtenberg. According to The News Tribune, January 12, 1964, Lichtenberg began collecting old type in 1945 and had over 100 rare fonts which he housed in his basement, along with wooden types, initials, ornaments, line engravings, etc., many of which are shown in this booklet. The press he used for printing was his own 8x12 Challenge-Gordon. He published an earlier specimen book under a slightly different title, in 1953.
OCLC locates just a single copy of the 1953 version at Berkeley but does not mention this edition.
