New York: Sheldon and Company, 1868 Fair+/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Blindstamped brown cloth; gilt spine decoration/lettering (mostly rubbed away). Copyright 1865. Sixth and last in a series penned by a Baptist minister. "Moral teaching has been blended with geography and history, and the aim has been to impart a knowledge of the customs and manners of Eastern people living in Oriental lands." Illustrated with engravings by M.T. Boyd. Heavy wear and tattering to cover cloth at extremities; spine strip split at rear, re-glued; cover cloth irregularly faded. Bookplate inside front cover; irregular 1" closed tear to front endpaper; small hole and creasing to rear endpaper. Occasional light soil, staining to text, but mostly clean; tight binding.
