York: Wilson and Sons, 1817. [Biographies] Two volumes. Octavo (23 x 15cm), pp.[14] 488 [2]; pp.[10] 470 [4]. Full brown calf with gilt titles and gilt decorations to spine, raised bands, gilt and blind ruling to boards, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers, gilt dentelle to turn ins. Eight plates across both volumes including frontispieces. Prize binding by Oriel College, Cambridge. Gilt embossed 'Collegium Orielense' to boards. Internally clean and crisp. Slight rubbing and wear to board edges, wear to spine edges, more so volume two. 'Farley' armorial plate to paste-downs, ownership inscription in black ink to flyleaf in volume one. Bump to back board left edge. Near fine.
