About This Item
New York: Thomas Y. Crowell & Company, 1890. Undated, ca. 1890. Illustrated. Reprinted from the original Chapman and Hall edition. Two volumes in three quarter dark brown smooth leather over marbled boards, dual spine labels in black and gilt, slightly raised spine bands, gilt decorated compartments, top edges gilt, marbled endpapers, about 7.75 inches tall. Some modest edgewear, some roughness to top edge of first volume, front joint a little weakened at the top but cover well attached, sound text blocks, but front hinges internally reinforced some time ago with some flexible clear tape which has gotten a little sticky (making the front endpapers stick together at the hinge - but removal may do more harm than good), pages clean, personal library label at upper corner of front pastedowns, no other names or markings.. Hard Cover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
