Boldly signed by Harold Macmillan on the title page as "Stockton," his title in the House of Lords. Near fine in a near fine dust jacket with a small closed tear to the foot of the jacket spine. Jacket photograph from the Macmillan Family Archives. Uncommon signed. Harold Macmillan was a major figure in British political history, serving as Minister of Housing and Local Government, Minister of Defence, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and eventually Prime Minister in 1957 after Anthony Eden.
