This is a book intended for children to explain the First World War which came at a time when Britain had seen a long period of peace. There is great praise for Britain's forces and a strong suggestion that Germany's war like attitudes had led to the conflict. An historical book that shows how children were taught about the war around the time of the Great War itself. Fascinating illustrations, including full- page plates, maps, diagrams, black and white illustrations and four colour plates. .
