Frederick Warne and Co. hardcover. Acceptable. 0x0x0. There is no pub. date, so this could possibly be earlier than 1880--boards match those of the first ed., ca. 1873, but are dark red rather than green--the clear gilt lettering and design are identical; errata slip might help date this printing. Spine cracked at first gutter, and front board, rubbed at edges but quite good otherwise, is loose; back board firmly attached; spine quite abraded; 4to; within there are unnumbered (count is 75) pages, on very fine, strong , unmarked paper. There are small smudges and stains, more severe on blank front end pages, but none mar the exquisite full-page, full-color ill. These are perfection and with skillful repair of the binding this volume would be very fine.
