About This Item
New York: Dodd, Mead & Co., 1957. Hardcover. Very Good -/Good +. The interior of the book is clean and fresh. The front free end paper has been neatly removed, but there is no other damage. The blue cloth covers are fresh, with light wear at edges and tips. The dust jacket iis price-clipped and is in Good + condition, with edgewear and one small chip missing from the top of the spine area. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover and looks a bit shabby, but still respectable. Synopsis: "Fifteen-year-old Larry O'Neil had been orphaned by an automobile accident, leaving him bruised in body and spirit. His Uncle Alan, an FBI Agent in New York had brought him to Canada to recuperate while staying with relatives he had never seen before. Inexperienced Larry met Old Pete, a Fundy fisherman, when he had to be rescued from a powerful spring tide, and Old Pete introduced him to Jack Steele, a Canadian Mountie. Together they discovered an international espionage plot, and an unexpected modern treasure in the shadow of one of pirate Captain Kidd's favorite haunts.
