About This Item

Warszawa, Poland: Spoleczny Fundusz Odbudowy Stolicy, 1949. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 4to 11" - 13" tall. Uncommon title in the trade. A perfectly serviceable reference copy; nothing fancy, but complete and still sturdy of binding but for cracking to front paste-down. Toning to and light soiling of paste-downs, including where laid and that now lay several period newspaper pages and clippings. Issues or portions of issues in German, Hebrew, Polish and English, from 1943 to 1983. Texts in Polish, and with duotone photographs of and illustrations by notable Polish artists and historians. Bound in black cloth over boards, gilt lettering to spine. Unusually, there is extensive tape-repair along probably half of all of the bottom page edges that suffered prior loss, leading now to waffling to those portions of the text-block. No signs of odor or mildew whatsoever. 187 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
