About This Item

Stockholm, Sweden: Stiftelsen Skargardsbaten, AB Norrmalmstryckeriet, 1969. Trade paperback. NEAR FINE . As new except for faintest sunning to covers. 84 pages illustrated throughout with sketches of the development of boats and maps of the area. For a hundred years the Skargard traffic has been operated with its home in Vaxholm. The vessel type is called Waxhlmsbaten (original spelling). How this type of vessel emerged from the general development over the last four decades of the eighteenth century is an interesting history related to shipbuilding technical problems but is also related to the social and cultural development in each country. 84 pages.
