About This Item
Macmillan,, 1889. 8vo., Second Edition, neat contemporary signature on front free endpaper; red pebble-grain cloth, upper board ruled in blind and blocked in gilt, gilt back, uncut, hinges starting (but binding wholly sound), a very good, bright, clean copy. With 4pp publisher's catalogue at end. Collects five of Hardy's finest short stories: An Imaginative Woman, The Three Strangers, The Withered Arm, Fellow-Townsmen, Interlopers at the Knap, and The Distracted Preacher.
