Limited first edition. Art and design by John H. Flores. Poetry by Thomas Hornsby Ferril. The Westerners is an organization that is focused primarily on western history. A limited edition in hardback with no jacket. This is copy number 713 of 1000. Book is Very Good to Near Fine with some wear at spine ends, and with a shallow dimple on the spine near the top. The book was dedicated to Fred Rosenstock who was a well-known book dealer in Denver. He opened his first store in 1922, and in 1962 opened Fred A. Rosenstock Books on East Colfax’s Book Row. He specialized in western history. This was a presentation copy from Rosenstock to a friend, as per written gift inscription on the half title page. Signed by Rosenstock and dated Sept. 5 – 1975. Rosenstck wrote a chapter for this book. He was the subject of a biography written by Donald E. Bower, Foreword by Frank Waters, and published by Northland Press.
