Lyon, Mississippi: The Derrydale Press. Near Fine with no dust jacket. 1991. Leatherette. Volume I only of a limited edition of 2500 copies of a deluxe illustrated edition of Roderick L. Haig-Brown's examination of fishing in British Columbia for salmon and trout. This Derrydale Press edition followed an earlier Derrydale limited edition in 1939. With dozens of black & white photos and a handful of plates in full color, showing various species and wet flies. Also with an oversize fold-out map of angling waters in B.C. and fold-out trout & salmon identification chart. Originally published in 2 volumes, of which this is vol. I. --- In full black leatherette covers with cover & spine titling in gilt, gilt wet fly and fillets to cover. AEG (all edges gilt), faux marbled endpapers in green/lavender/blue. Volume lacks a dust jacket (probably as issued). --- An exceptional, gift-worthy copy: bright, unmarked, tightly bound and lacking evident damages (other than a small tear to B.C. map). (NOTE: Due to the weight of this item, extra shipping charges may be requested.) ; Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; xviii, 200 pages .
